Terms of Service

The short version: your content is yours, we provide the service with care, and the Sovereign tier runs in your own AWS organization under a separate agreement.

Last updated: August 2026

Working draft. This document is pending formal legal review ahead of general availability. It reflects how we actually operate today, but wording may change once counsel signs off.

1. The service

Otopic is an AI-native collaboration workspace organized around Topics — durable containers holding notes, chat, tasks, decisions, and AI context. These terms govern the hosted service and the marketing site; Sovereign deployments add a separate agreement (see below).

2. Your content

You retain all rights to the content your team creates in Otopic. We process it only to provide the service, and we do not train AI models on it. You can export your content; text-first storage means exports are structured, human-readable text.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Otopic to store or distribute unlawful content, to infringe others' rights, or to disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Plans & billing

Free is €0 and includes a monthly AI-action quota. Pro is billed per user per month. Client-side stakeholders are free on every plan. During early access, pricing details may be adjusted before general availability; we will communicate changes before they affect you.

5. Sovereign tier

Sovereign deployments run in the customer's own AWS organization on a pay-as-you-go basis (AWS costs, AI usage, and subscription), with an SLA and dedicated onboarding under a separate written agreement that takes precedence over these terms where they conflict.

6. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but the hosted service is provided "as is" during early access. We may change or discontinue features; material changes will be announced in advance.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
